SACRAMENTO, CA — The I AM ABLE Disability Job Fair is coming back to downtown Sacramento on Wednesday, October 14, and it is built for job seekers with disabilities who want to meet employers that are actively recruiting them. PRIDE Industries is hosting the free event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Hall A of the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center on J Street, with state departments, health systems, banks and Sacramento Regional Transit among the names on the employer list.

💼 Who's Hiring on J Street

This is the third year PRIDE Industries, the Roseville-based nonprofit, has run the fair during October. Past editions drew more than 1,100 job seekers and more than 40 employers, and the 2026 list reads like a map of Sacramento's biggest payrolls.

State government is well represented: CalHR, CAL FIRE, the California Department of Public Health, the California Department of Technology, Covered California and State Compensation Insurance Fund. Health care brings Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Health. Golden 1 Credit Union, SAFE Credit Union, Five Star Bank and Wells Fargo cover finance. Sacramento County, Sacramento Regional Transit and the Los Rios Community College District round out the public side, with Siemens, Robert Bosch, Crown Equipment, Holman, Audacy, Sierra Health Foundation and Thunder Valley Casino Resort also listed.

No headcount or pay ranges have been published, so ask each table what's open right now and what it pays.

⚠️ Read This Before You Go

Time slots matter. PRIDE asks registrants to pick a slot and arrive during it. The early slot has already filled, and the event page now notes that pre-registration is closed. Day-of registration is still available, so plan on arriving after noon.
Parking isn't free. PRIDE's parking page lists nearby garages and lots, with daily rates running from about $9 to $45.
Accommodations are built in. The organizer lists ASL interpreters, braille materials, quiet spaces and a service dog relief area.

Between employer conversations, three 20-minute breakout sessions run after noon: CalABLE on how its savings accounts support working people with disabilities, former Congressman Tony Coelho, a primary author of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Department of Rehabilitation on demystifying LEAP.

That last one is the most practical session for anyone eyeing a state job. LEAP is California's alternative route into civil service for candidates with disabilities, and it starts with a LEAP certification from the Department of Rehabilitation. With so many state departments in the room, it is worth knowing before you reach their tables.
